Executive Production Manager
Adam has been working in the Entertainment Industry in one aspect or another for over 30 years. He brings a breadth of experience starting from a BA in Theatre Design to teaching theatre to painting and building scenery for theatre and television.
Adam has been a staple of Scenic Highlights for 25 years. As Lead Production Manager for 10 of those years, he has overseen and managed quality for 100’s of shows both large and small. He believes each show, no matter the size, deserves the same attention to detail. As Executive Production Manager, he brings that same sense, experience and leadership to the overall company as Scenic Highlights continues to grow under its new ownership.
Michael Pujdak has been a permanent member of the Scenic Highlights team for over 25 years. His lengthy experience as a project manager has helped him to develop strong organizational and problem solving skills, as well as an ability to work well with people. He is familiar with all aspects of the Set Construction industry, including: Planning, Design, Drafting, Fabrication, Painting, and Rigging.
His many years of experience comes in handy while breaking down, estimating and helping customers achieve their vision with in the budget they may have for any size show, large or small.
Meredyth has recently joined the team at Scenic Highlights. She has had the honor of working on many stellar production including the Oscars, Grammys, SAG awards and the BET awards along with many theatrical events such as NBC Peter Pan and Experiences Carrie in Downtown Los Angeles. Meredyth has also had the opportunity to work as a Project Manager on a few games shows and commercials thru out her career. Prior to her stint in Television, she had an amazing career Production Managing theater both in New York and California. She has Production Managed at the Helen Hayes Theatre Company in Nyack, White Plains Performing Arts Center, Sylvia & Danny Kaye Playhouse all in New York and the Scottsdale Center for the Performing Arts and Tempe Center for the Arts in Arizona.
Lead Project Manager
Ryan is the Lead Project Manager at Scenic Highlights, responsible for the day-to-day operations of the company including scheduling, staffing and logistics. He graduated from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst with a degree in Construction Management. In 2011 Ryan moved to LA and began working in technical theater applying his practical construction background to the entertainment industry. At Scenic Highlights Ryan’s blend of talents in carpentry, rigging, live event, theater and logistics help him to balance the many needs of a fast paced and growing scene shop.

Metal Shop Manager
Special Project Manager
Chris Barnes has been working in the entertainment industry building scenery for over 26 years. He started as a carpenter and gradually learned many other aspects of building over the course of his career. He has been the Metal Shop Foreman at Scenic Highlights for 15 years. He is also a Project Manager for large complicated shows and installations. He is comfortable running large crews on location and meeting deadlines. He also has the ability to come up with solutions for any problems that may come up on the spot.
He has also been using his wide variety of skills designing and building many mechanical and SPFX projects for Scenic Highlights for the past 10 years.
Graphics & CNC Department Manager
James McDougald joined the Scenic Highlights team in 2006 and currently manages the Graphics & CNC Department. A SoCal native trained in the fine arts, James hails from the University of Notre Dame and has over 15 years experience in the sign making and set construction industry. In his natural habitat James can often be found operating our 3-axis CNC machines, wrangling wide format printers, installing vinyl graphics and drafting precision parts in both Vectorworks and Vectric Aspire. During his tenure at Scenic Highlights, James has worked on a variety of high profile projects such as Disney's Toy Story Mania Tokyo, The Golden Globes, MTV's Video Music Awards and Big Brother. When a client's project demands unique printing or signage solutions the department heads at Scenic Highlights turn to James for graphics and CNC support.
BOBBY ALVAH SMITH
Scenic Artist & Sculpting Department Manager
Alva comes to Scenic Highlights from an eclectic background which runs the gamut from stop motion work to musical theatre to scenic art. He has been a part of the Scenic Highlights family for nearly a decade and is ever ready to use of his and the Scenic Dept’s various and considerable abilities to meet any challenge.

Ricardo has been building scenery for over 27 years and has been an important part of the Scenic Highlights team for the past 15 years. Prior to that, he worked in a variety of scene shops and he also brings real world experience including custom furniture, kitchen cabinets and home remodeling. He has a wealth of knowledge to help bring any show to life on time and on budget.
Dave Mabe has worked in the entertainment industry for almost 20 years working as a carpenter and sculptor. He also brings many years of experience working in the residential construction and remodel industry with knowledge of framing, electrical, plumbing and tile work. For the past 7 years, Dave has worked as a Lead Carpenter and Installation Coordinator for Scenic Highlights.
Lead Scenic Artist
Assist. Dept. Manager
Dan Calandro is a graduate of the Conservatory of Theatre Arts at Webster University in St. Louis, Missouri. He began his career as a set designer and scenic artist for midwest summer stock theatre. Upon graduating in 2003, Dan became resident set designer for Timberlake Playhouse in Illinois. Dan has freelanced as a set painter on television shows for Fox and MTV. From 2011 to 2013, he worked with student set designers at the University of Southern California on their productions for the School of Theatre.
As a Lead Scenic Artist for Scenic Highlights (since 2004), Dan has been charge artist for several productions including the Geffen Playhouse and lead scenic painter for many projects at Disneyland, CA.
Lead Scenic Artist
Allison D. Kauling graduated from The Conservatory of Theatre Arts at Webster University in 2007, majoring in Scenic Art. After moving to Los Angeles in 2010, she has since been Lead Scenic on a variety of TV shows including "Bam's Badass Game Show," and independent movies such as "Burning Dog" and "Excess Flesh." She has also been working at Scenic Highlights since 2010, starting a scenic artist and moving up to Lead Scenic Artist, leading a variety of tv shows, movie premieres and entertainment events.

Graphics Dept. Assistant
Chris studied fine art and commercial art at Mt. San Antonio College in Walnut CA. His professional career as a Graphic and fine artist includes: Product illustration and creative layouts for various companies including Sears, May Company, Lucas Oil, McDonalds and Disney. Chris has worked as a Title Artist For Technicolor/CFI Title and Optical in Hollywood California from1998-2002. He has been with Scenic Highlights working as a Lead Scenic Artist and Graphic Artist since 2010.
